Reporting a problem
Please tell us your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, what you expected to happen and what happened instead. The approximate time of the issue can help us investigate.
You can also use the app’s bug-report option. Attach diagnostic logs only if you want to share them. Screenshots and exported trip data can reveal locations or personal information, so review them before sending. Never send your Tesla password or access tokens.
Common questions
What do I need to record a trip?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, a compatible Tesla vehicle and your Tesla account. Follow the connection steps on the main screen, allow location access, and swipe to begin recording.
Can I explore the app without recording?
Yes. When there are no saved trips, a clearly labeled sample journey lets you explore maps, graphs and the trip journal. Its vehicle data is fictional.
Does parking end my recording?
No. A recording continues until you swipe to stop it. Stationary periods and charging stops can become part of your trip.
Why are vehicle readings missing?
Check that the correct vehicle is selected and the Tesla connection setup is complete. Vehicle readings depend on connectivity and what your car provides. Phone GPS and vehicle readings may arrive at different times.
Can recording continue in the background?
Background recording requires the appropriate location permissions. iOS controls background execution and recovery, so interruptions and gaps remain possible. Keep location access enabled while recording.
How do I remove a saved trip?
Open Trips, long-press a trip or swipe it left, then choose the trash button. For questions about server-held data, contact us at the address above.
Privacy requests
For questions about your personal information or to request access or deletion, email support@teslatrips.app with “Privacy request” in the subject. Please do not send sensitive identity documents unless we explain why they are needed.
